Poem: we went on an adventure (K)

We go on a walk
Just you and me
From the emerald woodlands
To the sparkling seas
To get away from it all
Everything and everyone
We walk, just the two of us
And soon we run

We stroll through the green
Through the branches and trees
Isolated from everything
Except our breath and the breeze
And we take each step
Together hand in hand
On a quest to discover
New found lands

And we reach old ruins
A decayed railway station
Covered in broken hearts
And the screams of the nation
And we gaze at this art
Of couples who tried
And we squeeze our hands harder
I gaze into your eyes

So we keep on walking
Humbled by the fact
That other couples have fallen
And some, just an act
But we're still together
Still travelling this path
While united as a team
The team Sam and Kath

Though soon we reach a tunnel
Red stones and a black core
A passage wrapped with shadows
The darkest we ever saw
But at the face of this blackness
We just laughed at the dark
Running through the tunnel together
With a song and a bark

Because we have each other
There's nothing to fear
Not the dark nor the path
Or the idea of lonely tears
Because we have each other
We'll always get through
We'll keep on walking this path
Just me and you
