I awoke in a valley. I was lying in soaking grass the brightest of greens. The mountains which formed the valley around me were sharp and steep and topped with snow. The sky was blood red and a single sun shone crimson. I stared at the sun for a while before I could figure out exactly what was wrong, your moon was missing. I shot up and looked around to find the grassy plain I was in was empty. There was no beautiful girl in her bright blue dress and cute socks and there were no shining square blocks dotted around the valley. I sat and I waited for you for a good long while, sometimes singing to myself but sometimes just staring at the sky and hating how it was the wrong colour.
Eventually I realised you weren't coming. At first I was depressed, I curled up on the floor and cried and moaned. But then I decided to go and find you, to scour the dream world and find you so we could be together again. I stood up slowly and approached the valleys entrance and looked out ahead at the desert. I decider I would find the spot we met Jasper and check to see if you were there. I threw my arms back and shot forward to, fall face first on the floor. I tried to use my speed a second and third time but it wouldn't work, I couldn't do it. and so I began to slowly walk across the miles and miles of desert not pausing not stopping, not even willing to slow down. I wheezed and I coughed, my legs hurt and my chest ached but I kept on walking, slowly marching towards the spot.
Time passed, I'm not sure how much though. Without the moon the sky stayed blood red but I knew days must have passed before I reached the spot where we first met Jasper. You weren't there and neither was he. I refused to give up so I went to the lonesome road and I looked West and then East and began to walk that way so I could find you.
I awoke

After hours and hours of walking the road finally started to raise upwards. I could feel the strain on my knees and the aching all up and down me but I knew I was close. As the road straitened out I looked ahead to see everlight city standing tall and proud ahead of me. It was just as we had left it except that the red sky was reflected by all the lights and as a result all the mist in the under city. It's looked like a pool of blood beneath me and I decided it was best to stay up top.
I followed the highway to our hotel room, where we had spent that wonderful night together. It had been on the forth floor and was a short way from the highway, with my powers I could have made the jump to the window but as I reached the hotel I wasn't so sure I could make it in my current state but I knew that staying still would get me know here and letting myself fall into the mist would be weak of me. I took a deep breath and kissed a certain owl pin on my jacket and I jumped.
I hit the window sill hard and slipped. I fell but was able to grab on with my fingers. below me was the mist and above was my objective, above was what would get me closer to you. Keeping that in mind I slowly pulled myself up with all my might and entered our room.
It was much how we had left it; bedding thrown about, underwear on the floor, two towels by the shower room and two mugs on the side. But there were new additions too. Posters and toys and Lego and collectables. All our favourite nerd things. There was every book we'd ever read on a hand crafted book case (burnt into shape and then carved with controlled lightning bursts) All my happy memories from the house we burnt down and all of yours were on the wall and so many of them included both of us. I realised this was my home, our home, the only one I have or want. A home with you.
But you weren't there.
instead of breaking again I decided I had to keep on looking and that's when I noticed a book on the desk by the window. it was a guide to the creatures and places of the dream world but in the back was a scrap book with all our favourite songs and poems and memories. On the back page was a note saying 'the one place we've never been but you've always wanted to go to'. It was in your hand writing. I smiled. I took the book and I leapt back onto the highway. I ran as fast as I can to the library and I found Pat. I asked him for a flying machine and said I needed it soon so I could find my angel
he said it'd take him three days to make one and to find a crew to fly it with him and I nodded before waking up

I waited, I spent the nights in our room. I looked at the hotel every day before hopping in the window (something I had become very good at) and had noticed a sign which dubbed it 'the third place'. I slept with Gerald and some toys and went on walks and wrote for you, waiting for the flying machine to be built and after three days it was finally ready. It was remarkable. It was crafted out of book shelves and other parts from the library and fused together with metal. It was a helicopter, of sorts. The craft was shaped like a thick dagger with a one man cockpit made of a ladder where the 'blade' was. sticking out of both sides were tiny platforms for standing on and above them were two large propellers encased in metal cylinders (like the engine of the Helicarier in Avengers almost). on the back were two more propellers and two 'wings' made of quilt. I asked Pat if he was sure it could fly and he said if he wasn't he sure as hell wouldn't try flying it. Pat was the pilot and joining us was Hannah, Holly and Elise. Hannah was the first to stand on the platform and we all got on with her allowing pat to take off. We soured over the whole entire sky, past the Arid Sea and Sam's town and the forests and battle fields. We headed vaguely North East for most of the day, until the sun was setting on us when ahead we saw an ocean. It was vast and endless and I knew it wrapped around the entire world until reaching the desert again. There was a small beach along the cliffs which separated the sea from the earth and instead of describing it I shall simply say we've been there before my love and we will again next week stood on the beach was a lone figure, in her gorgeous blue dress. Hannah gave me a parachute made of quilts and I slowly floated down to the beach. The you were, looking at stunning and as elegantly beautiful as you always do, like no other girl I've ever seen. As you see me you freeze and your face forms a smile. as you stand still a wave catches you unaware and you slip. In a flash I zip to you across the beach and catch you before you hit the ground, our powers are back. I give you a great big kiss and simply say 'hey' and you say 'hi' and as we hold each other on our beach the red sun sets and a blue moon rises and as we embrace and the sky turns purple the only other words spoken are 'I love you'

I never thought we'd come back to this world you know, and at the time the thought was rather bittersweet. I mean obviously I was super duper happy that it wasn't really just a dream anymore, but I always liked these little stories I see what you mean by it being full of metaphors again it really didn't take anywhere near as long to figure out what they all were this time and how I wound up on the beach without you is quite beyond me but hey, it works I'm glad in the end we were able to find each other again, though it was pretty inevitable wasn't it? I love you so much P.S. I love how the hotel room is now our third space :3
