Never Let Me Go - Kath's version

This song really helped me get through the week I was away and had no phone. This and Whistle For the Choir were basically all I could listen to for much of the time, and they kept me going. This one in particular helped me to sleep and feel your arms around me even if I couldn't speak and see your face :3



Admittedly on the surface it seems to have nothing to do with that. For years I interpreted this song simply as some sort of suicide note, but suddenly one night it was playing in my head and it took on a whole new, and so much better, meaning :3 hopefully I can get that one across instead of just depressing you with it :3

- this song has several ocean based metaphors running through it, and for me personally it's the rush of love I have coming over me when I'm with you :3 the meaning of this verse is that the world seems to have stayed the same since I fell in love with you, but I've changed for the better and suddenly it's a whole lot more beautiful to me :3

- no peace like the peace of being in your arms :3

Cathedral where you cannot breathe

No need to pray, no need to speak

- I don't need to dream and pray that perfection is gonna find me anymore, I already have it

- All that negative feeling and all those worries just leave me when we're snuggling up and going to sleep, it's like all the bad is a million miles away (or a thousand miles below )

- very comfy shoulders you got there

- you're always lifting me up and keeping a hold of me, both literally and metaphorically :3

Though the pressure's hard to take

It seems a heavy choice to make

- this is the bit I disagree with for the most part. Being with you is definitely a wonderful form of escape, but it's more than that. It's how I feel complete and happy and perfect :3 and it sure isn't a 'heavy choice to make' (well it might have been back in April as I'm sure you'll remember but I certainly don't feel an ounce of regret about the one I did make )

- gotta love repetition the constant 'never let me go' in the background is that simple truth that I know and feel running all across me, and it's so good to feel :3 we'll always stay like this :3
