Poem: now and then (K)

I watch the clock tick through the passage of time
Waiting for the moment past eleven fifty nine
My stomachs alight with a magical fear
For in just a little while I'll have known my Kath for a year

And a whole year of joy has just passed by
With my angel here all we do is fly
So far this year has been the best I've seen
As we soar over the darkness as a perfect team

And every minute has been wonderful
And every day has just been packed full
With moments so lovely and cosy and true
With such happy moments spent just with you

And you've made me oh so happy
facing crowds of fifty
I've made you so brave
As I've carried you through cold sea waves

For a year we've protected each other
And each night been such perfect lovers
We've kept each other happy and secure
And now all I want is more and more

So here's to a very long future
With my best friend, partner and lover
Here's to every minute, day, year and life
With my girlfriend and someday wife
