Poem: our Christmas (K)

I arrive at the station
Just ten minutes early
And with a rush check
All the trains from Pearly
And I head for the platform
Run up all those stairs
To see a beautiful girl waiting
To see you already there

With the speed of a dart
We ran to embrace
My arms wrapped around you
Your hair in my face
I was there to protect you
Though we had to let go
For though I wanted to hold you
I should first take you home

So for 6 or so hours
We traveled by coach
With me holding you tightly
We made our approach
And we reached homes station
And traveled some more
First by bus then by feet
Then we walked through our door

At home I cooked you dinner
Not just beans on toast
Your homecoming was like Christmas
And I cooked my queen a roast
Then I lead you to our room
Holding you by your hand
To find it filled with lights
And all the things I had planned

One by one
you opened your gifts
Books a CD some toys
And then you suddenly sniffed
And as you opened your shirt
Your wand and one last book
I saw tears in your eyes
And with joy your body shook

So I held you in my arms
And I cuddled you tight
With my body wrapped round you
We were together all night
And I filled you with pleasure
With joy and with glee
And I felt just the same
With you here with me
