My Sweetheart
I never used it lightly
A piece of verbal art
I've always clung to tightly
Spent over eight whole years
Waiting for a girl to fit the part
that perfect girl I'd want to hear
That they're my one sweetheart
Never said to a crush or my sister
Or my oldest dearest friends
No one ever heard a whisper
Of a word I'd save till the end
Until I found my one true partner
I'd want to love to hold and protect who I'd shine for when it got darker
The girl who to me was perfect
So I never used that word
Not to anyone around
No one every heard
That lovely special sound
Until one lovely day
I met a girl to smile and laugh
A girl I'd want to say
Is my sweetheart, my Kath

You really make the 'deciding upon my favourite nickname' thing difficult :3 :3 :3
(I think sweetheart will always top the list mind)
So many people just sort of throw about the name sweetheart you know, my dad calls a lot of people that and I know loads of other people who do too. For a long time it always made me think of Haymitch Abernathy but nowadays whenever I hear it my ears always perk up and your smile flashes in my head :3 unless you're saying it and looking right at me in which case I get the squiggles :3
I love that nickname, and I always have got all squiggly and blushy at the thought that I'm your only ever sweetheart :3 I feel honoured and very very happy that I'm the gal you call that, that I must mean that much to you and that you wanna spend your life with me :3
I love you, and thank you for the beautiful poem :3 sorry for the long splurge but it's just cause it means a hell of a lot to me (and alas, the happy tears are a-comin' :3)
